0.2 Km: New Airport expansion.
• To support the rapid growth of international tourism over the past 6 years, Colombia’s government has approved the private initiative project to build a new, state of the art international airport with a capacity 3 times that of the current airport. The new airport will be built adjacent to Canalete on the South East of the property.

1km: Serena de Mar, John Hopkins Children’s Hospital & University de Los Andes
• The newly built master city, Serena de Mar, built across 400 hectares of land is located on the neighboring property to the West. Canalete Events, Tourism and Conference Venue

Canalete is currently being used to host international festivals and events. The location of the estate, incredible scenery and impressive buildings attract audiences from around the world for private luxury events.

At the heart of the property is an enormous temple, constructed out of Bamboo by Simón Vélez. The temple is a work of art and won a prestigious award from Beatrix the Queen of Holland and Prince Claus for the design of the temple and its contribution to sustainability.

Among all cities in Latin America Cartagena ranks 7th in terms of the number of international conferences held there, even higher ranked than the nations capital.
